This week I’m trying for creativity, based on the Top 25 Country Songs of 1999.

First up, the only non-creative post because, darn it, I just can’t make it fit but it is worthy of being included. Cee talks about choosing a practice area and managing peoples’ expectations about the type of law you practice.

3L Wannabe talks about Lessons Learned (Tracy Lawrence) over the end of a friendship

Googie Baba is trying to remember to Breathe (Faith Hill)

All Things Considered
(Yankee Grey), PBB’s nonprofit is actually benefiting from the legal market downturn in the form of experienced volunteers

Certifiable was totally Amazed (Lonestar) at her stroke of luck in a deposition this week (yeah, okay, the song doesn’t work but the title will have to do because it’s a good blog post)

With one child and considering another, Magic Cookie knows How Forever Feels (Kenny Chesney)

Proto Attorney may be Ready to Run (Dixie Chicks) after a crappy week but at least she’ll do so in awesome shoes!

Butterflyfish ponders What Do You Say (Reba McEntire) when your mother tells you stuff that makes your ears bleed.

New Duck is rocking life as a Single White Female (Chely White) with a little help from her sister and some new furniture

Trannyhead and her hubby are probably reflecting on When I Said I Do (Clint Black) in the glow of their shiny new toy

And Lag Liv is telling her hubby “You’re Still the One” (Shania Twain) in a little meme with picture

This week in the MILPosphere:

First up, go give Shelley some love and Happy Birthday wishes. The girl has had a rough week!

3L Wannabe’s spring break got off to a rough start.

Butterflyfish’s
little Clownfish is making sure she gets the facts straight

New Duck shares tales of her insanely tall, beautiful and cuddly one year-old

Proto Attorney is weighing her job options

Lag Liv continues to find herself balancing things well and tells us about how it’s working out

Certifiable is working too hard and apparently it shows

Kady reminds us that, especially after this year’s economic plunge, we may be stuck supporting our parents through retirement (I know I will!)

CM reviews her past two weeks, complete with a two year-old doctor visit update (he’s two already!) and a book recommendation

GoogieBaba and her son got rejected by the local playdate group due to his post-injury crankiness

Over at PBB, little Miss Becca is 14 months old already!

Cee has discovered the working mom’s secret (work actually sometimes provides a nice little break… ;) )

This week in the MILPosphere:

First up, go give PD Surrogate some support. She’s balancing her full-time job as a public defender, single mom to a seven year-old and a second twin surrogate pregnancy. Right now she’s in a lot of pain with migraines and they aren’t getting any better. :(

ProtoAttorney also needs some hugs. Between pet death, vomiting and evil job interviews/rejection, she’s ready for a better week!

Go give Trannyhead some bar exam luck vibes, not that she needs them. She’s super-Hawt and she is going to rock it! Duh.

Shelley illustrates the delicate balancing act of working moms as she takes her sick toddler to work with her

Butterflyfish is going balls-to-the-walls in her job search

Over at New Duck, it’s not her, it’s them (corrupt, evil bastards)

Dakota is preparing for the end [and reinforcing my decision not to return to law school. A sampling from her latest hilarious post: "A lawyer? Really? Seriously? So, was it the fantastic hours, the great reputation or the enormous student loans that first attracted me to the profession? Maybe it was the killer 2-day exam at the end of a HUGELY expensive 4-year education that if you don't pass you don't get to play the game?"]

LEO is debating the merits of continuing to live in one of the most expensive housing markets (and shakiest state economies) in the country.

I need some of whatever Lag Liv’s been drinking. ;)

Certifiable worries that she’s in over her head. She’s not, she’s just overwhelmed (hahahahaha).

Magic Cookie shares her goals as she starts work (go wish her luck!)

PBB did a similar post based on Magic Cookie’s post and has some excellent goals for how to turn an 18-month stint into great opportunities for learning and career growth

The post where Googie Baba uses “excited utterances” in a real life scenario. Why this tickles me, I have no clue.

Cee shares the Top Ten Ways a Baby Enhances Your Life

This week in the MILPosphere:
The world may be coming to an end. TrannyHead is freaking out! Go over and give her some reassurance.

3L Wannabe’s students are panicking about the post-graduation job hunt.

Over at A Hundred Indecisions, Gudnuff posts her 25 “faceless” random facts (following the trend currently sweeping Facebook).

LagLiv did it first and hers are here.

Butterflyfish is no longer so whelmed, but she is a little debaucherous. Woot!

New Duck shares the fun that is the self-evaluation process – Part One and Part Two.

Certifiable is facing a classic work dilemma.

GoogieBaba is goofing off (if you can really call dealing with the stress of conceiving a child, dealing with replacing a wrecked car, etc., goofing off)

PD Surrogate is feeling better and working hard.

At Balancing Act, she is facing a first-year associate’s worst nightmare – family crisis while balancing a new baby, conferences, a new house purchase and a large workload.

Magic Cookie gives some tips on good books she’s read recently and ones she is currently reading (I agree about “I Don’t Know How She Does It.” Wait until you finish it. Not worth the money. Grr.).

At Peanut Butter Burrito, Andrea celebrates 12 magical months with her precious angel (and her first win in court!!)

In other cuteness, Peach had her very first pedicure over at The Menagerie.

Andrea2 at Formerly Knocked Up (and in Law School) had a happy weekend of bonding with her family and friends.

Cee is blogging in cliches.
