Two weeks of MILP-y Goodness!

The Weekly MILP (Moms In the Legal Profession) Roundup** is hosted on a rotating basis at the PT-LawMom, Attorney Work Product and A Little Fish in Law School blogs and is usually posted no later than Monday morning. Next week Proto Attorney will have it.

CM is celebrating K’s third birthday (gosh, time flies!!!) and, like me, foregoing regular blog posts for occasional brief updates due to the stuff-you-want-to-say-but-can’t and the generally overwhelming nature of life.

Cee, on the other hand, is done with overwhelming for a while having successfully completed the bar exam!! Woo-hoo, Cee! At least she thought she was done with the overwhelming until the end of a week with her cute 18-month-old.

Certifiable’s mother-in-law passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Unfortunately no one pushed pause on the “year-o-shit” button so she faced even more as she arrived home after the funeral.

Proto Attorney deals with asshats not only at work but in her general vicinity on a daily basis

Even in a downturn, many people are unhappy at work. Googie Baba is turning down a year of unpaid legal fun (gee, why not??) and Butterflyfish offers up a timely example. She also explains why asking nicely isn’t always good enough…

PD Surrogate is also re-evaluating life, work and love.

Lag Liv is reeling following the loss of a dear law school classmate and distracting herself with very early and continuous nesting (perhaps girls drive you to it?)

If the above posts depressed you, this one from Dakota will make you laugh out loud (love it!) and this one is just too cute.

This must be a week for reflections, as LEO finally finished The Last Lecture and shares her thoughts about life, death and parenting. In a related post, she makes the case for starting your family young. (I agree – had Pumpkinhead at 23 and there are many bonuses)

If you would like to have your blog added to the MILP blogroll for weekly review or would like us to consider a specific post, drop the hostess(es) an email or leave a comment at their respective sites.

Slacker alert! Due to a business trip out of town last weekend (and a baby shower, fender bender, and other calamities), I completely forgot the Roundup last week. :( As penance, I will be bringing you two weeks of wonderful MILP goodness shortly.

Please go comfort Certifiable as she deals with the imminent passing of her mother-in-law and her childrens’ awareness of same

Consider joining Googie Baba (and me) in donating to Planned Parenthood in gratitude for the fact that we live in a country that allows women to make choices for their own health and personal circumstances

Momttorney is facing the harsh realities of a firm’s perspective on “reduced schedule” – typically “get it done!”

Lag Liv settled a huge case this week but is now wondering “what next?”

Dakota is focusing on the little things

Magic Cookie is in demand!

Cee’s in high demand (awesome!)

At A Little Fish in Law School – Those who can write but want more money than an English degree offers … go to law school?

LEO considers the pros and cons of cohabitation prior to marriage

Oddly enough, Proto Attorney is not appreciating the regular love letters from Sallie Mae as a reminder of her crippling, lifelong debt load.

TrannyHead is leaving us. Waaah!

And for those who missed it, Googie Baba reminds us that Monday was National Human Sex Trafficking Day. Take time to remember how many women are exploited every day worldwide and could use help.

Butterflyfish is pondering Clownfish’s quirkiness

Southern Female Lawyer shares an awesome letter from Satan to Pat Robertson (lol)

LEO is starting to doubt again…

Proto Atty and I have been living the same sexist “man-knows-best” workweek. Grrr!

Lag Liv is remembering to take a little time for herself and her health in the midst of litigation craziness

Certifiable is getting much-needed (and hopefully much-improved!) help!

CM is getting involved (awesome!)

Cee has her eyes on the prize (right pick, IMO!)

Dakota is moving on (go give her some support, Mamas)
