Weekly MILP Roundup #152

After some evil site hacking and rework with my host, I am finally back up. Sorry all!

The Weekly MILP (Moms In the Legal Profession) Roundup** is hosted on a rotating basis at the PT-LawMom, Attorney Work Product and A Little Fish in Law School blogs and is usually posted no later than Monday morning. Next week Proto Attorney will have it.

Lots of baby news this week!

On the heels of Andrea’s news at PBB, more awesome news from Butterflyfish! Must be something in the MILP water.

Meanwhile, LL is ready to go any day now. Yippee!

The Reluctant Grownup is also experiencing contractions and, based on the last post date, may have delivered. Good luck!

Grace is getting ready and doing her research. Um, ick!

And Izzie is over-educating herself with dramatic baby birthing shows. (I did the same first time around; this time, meh.)

Dinei (Nonsense and Frippery) is enjoying work in the midst of severe frustration with the doctors giving her and her little one the runaround.

CCC
had a major Mommy “aha” moment.

Cee is dealing with the double-edged sword of learning on the job. (Ick, why are people such douche puddles!)

Dakota is experiencing the unique ability kids have to puke twice their body weight in the course of a virus.

Proto Attorney is doing a great job of losing it.

Certifiable enjoyed a much-deserved break with her family at a gorgeous cabin. Sooo jealous!

Weekly MILP Roundup #146

18 Apr

The Weekly MILP (Moms In the Legal Profession) Roundup** is hosted on a rotating basis at the PT-LawMom, Attorney Work Product and A Little Fish in Law School blogs and is usually posted no later than Monday morning. Next week Proto Attorney will have it.

First off, some horrible news – Useless Dicta passed away from a pulmonary embolism following a ski accident. Thank you, Butterflyfish, for letting us know. What a tragedy.

Lag Liv is racing around the country, but at least her firm is keeping her relatively comfortable.

Momttorney has also been traveling and trying to stay connected.

LEO’s on the hunt for that extra time all moms desire (and never seem to find).

Certifiable could also use some Calgon or, better, a week at a spa with mommy/lawyer/wife duties on pause!

Proto Attorney is standing her ground. :)

Reluctant Grownup ponders the joys and sacrifices of city living.

Go wish CM a happy belated birthday and send her vibes for relaxation and pampering soon. She’s a great cook but, really, baking your own cake?!?

Jenny faces some serious distractions from finals.

I thought Pumpkinhead had the best smile but, really, Dakota’s son (and birthday boy) is a great rival. Sooo cute!

Even when she stumbles a bit, Cee keeps looking on the bright side. This post made me laugh out loud!

CCC bemoans the lack of true casual Fridays as a lawyer.

Butterflyfish illustrates a perfect way to piss off a judge (P.S. I used to work for a judge and when boxes of unnecessary docs came in like that, they would sit in his corner behind everything else because it irritated him so much).

PD Surrogate is feeling out of place and looking for kindred spirits

-R- could use some support. Cancer sucks!

LEO is facing some major but exciting life decisions

Proto Attorney has had a week of suckage all around and the upcoming week isn’t looking much better.

Lag Liv reviews her amazingly balanced day with a toddler.

Certifiable can’t catch a break

CM reflects on quality versus quantity.

Googie Baba shares her mother’s awesomeness

Momttorney reflects on the moments that matter and shares a neat idea for husband and daughter quality time.

Dakota took her kids into space

Go give Southern Female Lawyer your support during a very scary health crisis.

Cee reminds us that we are on our own now

Weekly MILP Roundup #139 and #140

08 Mar

Two weeks of MILP-y Goodness!

The Weekly MILP (Moms In the Legal Profession) Roundup** is hosted on a rotating basis at the PT-LawMom, Attorney Work Product and A Little Fish in Law School blogs and is usually posted no later than Monday morning. Next week Proto Attorney will have it.

CM is celebrating K’s third birthday (gosh, time flies!!!) and, like me, foregoing regular blog posts for occasional brief updates due to the stuff-you-want-to-say-but-can’t and the generally overwhelming nature of life.

Cee, on the other hand, is done with overwhelming for a while having successfully completed the bar exam!! Woo-hoo, Cee! At least she thought she was done with the overwhelming until the end of a week with her cute 18-month-old.

Certifiable’s mother-in-law passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Unfortunately no one pushed pause on the “year-o-shit” button so she faced even more as she arrived home after the funeral.

Proto Attorney deals with asshats not only at work but in her general vicinity on a daily basis

Even in a downturn, many people are unhappy at work. Googie Baba is turning down a year of unpaid legal fun (gee, why not??) and Butterflyfish offers up a timely example. She also explains why asking nicely isn’t always good enough…

PD Surrogate is also re-evaluating life, work and love.

Lag Liv is reeling following the loss of a dear law school classmate and distracting herself with very early and continuous nesting (perhaps girls drive you to it?)

If the above posts depressed you, this one from Dakota will make you laugh out loud (love it!) and this one is just too cute.

This must be a week for reflections, as LEO finally finished The Last Lecture and shares her thoughts about life, death and parenting. In a related post, she makes the case for starting your family young. (I agree – had Pumpkinhead at 23 and there are many bonuses)
