Dad’s House really wowed me with his post today. Very honest and heartfelt. Go check out his response to his father’s question on what this divorced single father is looking for in a woman.
As for me, I know I can take care of myself. I can take care of my son. I can work my ass off and make it. I can dance backwards in high heels all day, bring home the bacon, fry it up and serve it with a smile. Just like David at Dad’s House (except perhaps for the heels – LOL). So what do I want? In the words of Jo Dee Messina, because song always says it better than I can, I’m not looking for a fantasy. I want a man who stands beside me. Give me two arms that want to hold me, not own me, and I’ll give all the love in my heart.

It took me a while to boil down what I want in a relationship to having a woman believe in me. If I get a whiff that a woman doesn’t accept me for who I am, and doesn’t believe in my abilities to move through life, she and I won’t date for long – no matter how smart, pretty, compassionate, etc. she is.
