I am so excited I just want to cry (again – ugh!) Today my son came home with a super-secret note from his teacher. It said the following:
Dear [PT-LawMom]:
I have chosen [Pumpkinhead} to receive the boy's character award for our class for this 9 weeks. He does such an outstanding job demonstrating all the characteristics of respect, fairness, trustworthiness, responsibility, caring and citizenship. I am so proud of him and I know you are, too!
I would like to invite you to our school's awards ceremony this Friday, March 27 at 8:45 a.m. The principal will be presenting the awards. He will be presented a sign to display in your yard for the next 9 weeks. The students have been anxiously waiting to see who will be recognized. The announcement will be made at that time, so please do not tell him ahead of time. It will be our surprise.

My kid has had SUCH a hard year. This is going to knock his socks off. He has been trying so hard to “be good” (I hate that – trying to separate his self-worth from his behavior). And he’s been on 4 different medications. 
He is doing soooo well right now and I am so proud of him! I can’t wait to see him on Friday. Now I just have to try not to cry!!! I wanted so badly to tell him but the happiness on his face will be worth it.
