Pumpkinhead Cuteness

07 Feb

My son has been so cute lately that I just have to share some of it with you all. Some examples:

My Mom told him she had purchased bread (we were out while I was sick and I hadn’t made it to the store). She said I was going to make him sandwiches, like PB&J, Turkey and Tuna. He swung his head around at the mention of tuna, opened his eyes wide, raised one eyebrow and looked at me like “WTH!?!”

Then I told him I was heading out to the movies and he was going to have to sleep in his own bed (Friday nights are sleep with Mommy nights). He slept with me Thursday night so we’d already made up for it. He said “Maybe when you come home, you’ll come get me out of my bed?” I said, “We’ll see.” He walked over with a devilish grin and whispered in my ear, “Do it. Just do it.” Bwahahaha. (I did. It was just too cute.)

Then there was the other night when I was trying to leave his bed after cuddle time and he said, “Don’t run away, little runner.” Cute.

Or toothbrushing time. He wanted to rinse his new toothbrush and came to me all concerned and said, “Mommy, how can I wash my toothpaste off. This toothbrush has a song (Mario Bros. theme song – two minutes to show him how long to brush). Water and electricity aren’t supposed to touch.” So smart.

I really need to start writing this stuff down. He is growing up so fast and learning so much and he just astounds me every day. I adore my boy. I don’t know how I would have gotten through this year without him. Last night I could have slept over with Blue Eyes after we went to the movies but all I kept thinking of were those sweet little hands on my cheeks and his little voice whispering, “Do it.” When I woke up this morning with him cuddled next to me ready to watch cartoons in bed, I knew I’d made the right choice.

I love the toothbrush with a song. That’s classic.
