This has been an insanely busy week! I’ve had back-to-back meetings and been working from home each night and I still have so much to do I’m not sure when it will end. But I love it.
I feel bad, though, because one girl kept coming in to ask me about the job we have advertised and it was always at the worst possible time. I told her today to just set a time and send me a calendar reminder and we’d get together. Of course she set it at 9:30 and now I have a 10 a.m. meeting with the Big Boss. Crap. Oh well, I’ll have to reschedule with her again.
The weekend promises to be just as busy, but mostly of my own making and hopefully more fun than work. I do have to bring home some work. I’m launching a worldwide training for senior managers next week via videoconfernce and have to both load and test it this weekend. Hope it works since we’re rolling it Tuesday.
I’ve already invited everyone so it had better work!!!!!
Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be less stressful than the work component. My friend, Lance, called Wednesday to see if I wanted to meet up for dinner tomorrow night after work. My parents said they’d watch Pumpkinhead so I’m going to drive across town and do that. Then PunditMom is in town visiting for a conference and I’d love to sit down and catch up with her so we’re going to try to make that happen sometime Saturday. My Dad is going to put Pumpkinhead’s fort up in the backyard on Saturday morning (we recently moved it in pieces from the main house over to my parents’ and now it just has to be put back together).
I also promised Dad that we’d go to the storage unit and start inventorying all the crap I had him and the laborers throw into the storage unit when I moved out of the house last summer. We’re going to make three piles — Episcopal Thrift Store, Craigslist, Keep. With any luck, we can pare it down to quite a bit less. Since I won’t be having babies anytime soon (if ever again, damn you health!!!), I may as well sell all the clothes and toys I have from Pumpkinhead. I told my Dad we’d have to send Pumpkinhead for a weekend with my aunt because he will be traumatized if he sees that. Fortunately we have a few weeks before we do a garage sale. Speaking of Pumpkinhead, I also need to swing by the crafts store so I can pick up the supplies we need to make a springtime “snow” globe. It’s a cool pattern I saw in Family Fun Magazine and it looks like a lot of fun to make.
Dad and I have had a serious bonding week! We had a taxes and dinner date on Tuesday night and then tonight he went and did water aerobics with me at the local pool. It was a blast (although my hands couldn’t take it for long and my feet cramped – damn out-of-shape, crippled body!) and my Dad kept singing along to the music.
Chapin is coming over Saturday to discuss putting the truck up for sale and to pick up the tax papers he needs for his portion of the house credits. Dad’s going to try to convince him to help with the truck and some muscle to move some of this stuff to the smaller storage unit as a partial payback for all the money he owes me. I told him to start by just reminding him that he left me two weeks out of surgery and ran away to Guatemala for four months. I had to pack up the whole damn house alone!
Perhaps that will be motivation enough for him to help now. Doubtful, but we can try guilt first. LOL.
Okay, the Chick Flick Cherry OPI polish on my toenails is finally dry and I am off to bed. Waaayyy too much to do tomorrow. Yawn!
