The Weekly MILP (Moms In the Legal Profession) Roundup** is the brainchild of Saramel (retired). It is hosted on a rotating basis at the PT-LawMom, A Little Fish in Law School, and A New Duck blogs and is usually posted no later than Monday morning. Next week’s MILP Roundup will be hosted by New Duck.

This week in the MILPosphere:

Zuska discusses year two of life as an associate balancing motherhood and a law career.

TrannyHead tells us about the driest bar around.

GoogieBaba gets some “feedback” on her blog (Happy Birthday to her beautiful three year-old!).

Cee has semester-beginning, child-leaving anxiety.

And Certifiable reminds us that many men out there are still chauvinist pigs.

Kady offers up some simple but helpful advice for getting through the recession.

Magic Cookie was super-anxious but she’s better now.

3L Wannabe is lamenting the brief time she had to relax and school is back in session tomorrow.

Butterflyfish is breaking down her break activities.

New Duck has been holding out on us but now spills all the details about her very first jury trial.

Meanwhile, PDSurrogate is pregnant again, exactly 9 months after delivering the last set of twins and juggling her job duties, morning sickness and a kid recovering from his tonsillectomy. Not envying her right now.

Dakota is threatening to depart the blogging world. Nooooo!!! Go encourage her to keep up at least the occasional update after May.

LEO is back to law school three weeks after giving birth to her cute baby boy.

Citations wants her own bailout fund.

After the hardest year of her life, Mieke has come back fiercer than ever.

LagLiv is facing those typical 12-18-month post-birth baby cravings (at least I had them then, did you? I think it’s hormonal).

If you would like to have your blog added to the MILP blogroll for weekly review or would like us to consider a specific post, drop the hostess(es) an email or leave a comment at their respective sites.

School starts tomorrow. Good luck to all my sectionmates. As most of you know, I won’t be there. I’ve been kind of down this week about it. There was an awesome intercession class this week that I had been enrolled for and really wanted to take that I missed because of my semester off. I know it’s the best thing (can barely feel my ring and fifth fingers on my right hand today, which makes it super-hard to type and obviously needs to be fixed before I return) but I’m still kind of sad.

Yesterday I took Pumpkinhead downtown to watch an ice sculpting competition. We spent several hours walking around while Blue Eyes took pictures and I watched Pumpkinhead playing on the cool new play structure. We got hot spiced cider and watched the ice skaters fly around the rink. It was so much fun and hopefully we can go back one day soon to take advantage of the great green spaces for a picnic or something.

Later that evening, Blue Eyes and I double-dated with my parents to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. We won’t be going anywhere with my parents again anytime soon :???: but the movie was fantastic. I sobbed and I even saw a few tears leak down Blue Eyes’ cheek. I highly recommend it, but leave the ‘rents at home.

I was going to spend today reading but last night I had the most insane dream I have had in years. It was one of those super-detailed all-night dreams with many twists and turns that wakes you up and then sucks you back in. I told Blue Eyes that it felt like all the damn self help books I had been reading lately had conspired against me to jump into one very strange dream that mixed issues with my ex-husband and past boyfriends and put them onto Blue Eyes, his family members (including a sister he doesn’t have in the form of actress Kim Raver), and even Britney Spears (yep, better lay off her music…). It was like my psyche was talking to me and put the voice of the books’ messages into Blue Eyes’ mouth because he said something in the dream that totally upset me and I woke up sweaty and really bothered by the whole thing, so much so that I had to call him to make sure it was a dream. Weird…

We still don’t have hot water and now we are out of cable and Internet. Don’t ask. It’s part of my Dad’s manic upswing and my mother just getting back from out of town. Pumpkinhead and I are over at Blue Eyes’ house now and I am just about to get started on the Roundup. Should be up soon. Won’t have Internet most of the week and cannot blog from work so excuse the silence.
