So I just finished my Santa Clause duties for the night and put out a cup with about 1/2″ of milk and an empty plate. Hopefully Pumpkinhead will be convinced that he was too sleepy when we got home at 11:30 to remember that we put milk and cookies out like he had planned. To add some authenticity and to help a Mama out, I wrote a thank you note from Santa (hey, gotta reinforce manners where we can, right?). It thanked him for being such a good boy this year and reminded him to do a, b, and c next year and said that Santa was looking forward to watching over him in 2009 and bringing him some of his heart’s desires next Christmas. Hope it works.
