Taking a break and stumbled upon this, which I think should be provided to all men after, say, the third date. Unlike me, who obviously has No Filter Whatsoever, men seem to be horrible at expressing their feelings (except the negative ones). I think that the Mad Libs version of romantic expression might work well.
He’s taking me out to lunch for Indian. More procrastination…

But, considering the typical law school grading process, does it really matter?!? See Concurring Opinion’s Guide to Law School Grading

Second-best Australia-to-US import (after Heath Ledger)

Stress relief, but it would make me sleep – not good

Butterflyfish totally pegged me when she said I remind her of the character in this comic she reads. I read a “Sweet Valley High” book once where one of the characters died after trying cocaine for the first time. I’ve always thought that would be me. Therefore, I have never tried any drugs (except the legal painkiller types), not even pot. Today’s Questionable Content is soooooo me.

Running out of ways to procrastinate so I’m going to do a little Sunday Stealing before I dive into Indonesian anti-corruption law.
Sunday Stealing: The Favorite Meme
Fill in your favorite for each of the following:
1. Political show: Meet the Press
2. Picnic food: Three-bean salad
3. Mixed drink: Fuzzy Navel
4. U.S. President:Clinton (although I’m not really liking his pissy attitude right now)
5. Kind of student to teach: Um, I’m not a teacher. I’d say a smart one. Hate repeating myself!
6. Hobby you do or wish you still did: I used to embroider. Loved it but there are only so many knick knacks a girl can make. Also loved pottery but, again, you can only make so many tea mugs before people start to run away when they see you coming.
7. Sports commentator: Ew!?!
8. Sport to watch on TV: SNORE
9. Animal to have as a pet: Cat
10. Halloween costume you have worn: Nightgown. I am all about comfy!
11. Kind of dessert: Molten chocolate cake with raspberries.
12. Comic strip: Cathy
13. Ice cream flavor: Blue Bell Vanilla. And when I was a kid, it was this mint gumdrop flavor they had in New Zealand but I have never seen here.
14. News source: Washington Post
15. Vacation spot: Lake Tahoe
16. Wine: Merlot or Riesling
17. Way to waste time instead of working: Bloglines, of course
18. Reality show: Ick.
19. Childrens movie: Anne of Green Gables (is that young enough?) Or Little Mermaid
20. Celebrity you wish would retire: Steven Segal
If you want to participate in the Sunday Stealing weekly memes, post this on your blog and visit Judd’s site to sign the Mr. Linky.
TrannyHead is guest hosting the Weekly MILP MILF Roundup because New Duck and Butterflyfish have been taken captive by NaBloMoFo fever and I am a Hawt Mess, hiding in bed and eschewing all responsibility.
The Weekly MILP (Moms in the Legal Profession) Roundup is the brainchild of Saramel (retired). It is hosted on a rotating basis at the PT-LawMom, A New Duck and A Little Fish in Law School blogs and is usually posted no later than Monday morning. Next week’s MILP Roundup will probably be at New Duck’s. I think…
EDITED TO ADD: No, actually, it will be back here. New Duck is away, Butterflyfish took one for me so it is my turn. And, yay, it’s right after TrannyHead’s Green Bean Fest!! Sex blogging galore – I am sooooo down with that.
Time for my first post-divorce holiday. My brother is coming. Last time he was here, my mother had a heart attack right after kicking him out. Apparently he has “changed”. We will see… Send good vibes for NO DEATH, ILLNESS or KNOCK-DOWN DRAG OUTS! My best friend and Pumpkinhead’s godmother, Ashante, read this post and purchased the first flight to my town Wednesday after work to spend the weekend with me. She is a beautiful, shining light of positivity and my parents love her so hopefully that will balance things out a bit. And my brother is bringing my nephew (I hope – he is still getting over his pneumonia, but the doctors think he can travel), so that should make things a bit lighter.
I think the day itself might be a little hard. Chapin was always a big ham at family parties and he loved Thanksgiving. He’d always play cards with my cousins and make everyone laugh. It’s going to feel weird not to have him there. One year at a time, I guess. Time to make new memories with Pumpkinhead. At least Thanksgiving will be a smaller affair with just one of my three aunts and her family. Christmas Eve is spent with the entire extended family (and I’m talking like 40 people here) and we are going to the same house we were at last year. Ugh. Plus this will be the first time I’ve seen many of them since the divorce. Have I mentioned that, with the exception of two third cousins, I am the only one in my extended family to have gotten divorced?
Single parent blog readers, how did you handle the first Thanksgiving after your divorce? Any tips for starting new traditions with your children to make it special? I’m really wondering how Pumpkinhead is going to handle things.
