FYI, for those who were wondering, the reason that so much random text in my posts is now linked is that I have an Amazon code in there that is supposed to pull out book and product titles but instead seems to be grabbing random words. Sigh… The easiest way to know whether the link is intentional or Amazon is to just move your mouse over it. It should show the product in a cloud or at least the URL at bottom with Amazon.com as the starter. And should you be moved enough to click on one of the clouds on your way to buy something (anything!) at Amazon, I thank you in advance.

Is it already almost another week? Ugh. This weekend literally flew by with packing up the house and then a barbecue today at Blue Eyes’ house with Chapin’s grill. Tee-hee.
Yummy Caribbean jerk chicken and grilled onion. Then I tried to convince Blue Eyes to come hang out with me tonight and help me delay the work week a bit longer but no dice. Unlike me, he digs his sleep. Since he works at a hospital on critical patients, that’s probably a good thing. LOL. Pumpkinhead managed to get in the pool a few times this weekend, which pleased both him and the evil mosquitoes that seem to be plaguing our backyard. He had a post-bath Benadryl cream rub-down.
So I am sitting here facing a pile of books and a box of work I brought home this weekend. On the plus side, my 7:30 a.m. conference call with Dubai was just canceled – yay! But it was rescheduled for Wednesday morning – boo! I got through my Negotiations reading and now have to do two relatively small chapters for Anti-Corruption and then I suppose I should tackle the evil financials spreadsheet that I keep avoiding for work. I brought home some Mango rum today and I think that might just go well with number crunching and a little OJ. Haha.
Hope you all have a great week.
P.S. This story literally made me spit my iced tea across the room. Woah…
Now that Loser Girl is back living with the ‘rents, I have to face the inevitable guilt trips from my master manipulator mother. Drives me INSANE and is my biggest daily challenge. Half the problem is that I read chastising into everything she says, but the other half is her actually doing it. Especially in regards to my actions with Pumpkinhead. A good example is that she will play “poor me” when it comes to taking care of Pumpkinhead so I can go do something or she will offer to watch him and then pour the guilt on about how challenging it was when I come home. If I put him with a sitter, she will inevitably say, “Oh, I could have watched him!” Um, yeah right… This stresses me out like you wouldn’t believe because, believe me, I do know that they are helping me so much right now. However, I feel like I’m 15 again.
Over at The Mommy Diaries, Courtney gives a great example of how mothers manage to manipulate without coming straight out and saying anything. I was trying to explain to Blue Eyes how these conversations go but couldn’t really come up with a good example. This one is perfect. It’s not what she says, per se, but how she says it. Ugh. I just have to repeat my new mantra, “I cannot change anyone’s feelings but my own.” And, yes, I definitely do this to Pumpkinhead… (must work on it).
