Answered Prayers
The Dean changed her mind and is allowing me to take an incomplete for the second class. This is the best of all worlds because the classes are now pre-paid (tuition increases are coming this fall) and I can retake one next spring and the other next summer. Thank God!
I also spoke to the YMCA and they have spots for Pumpkinhead to start camp next week. It’s Wild West week.
He thought that sounded pretty nifty. I took a pill and dragged myself to the Y to watch him swim today. He’s so cute as he tries so hard to float and coordinate his arms with his legs. I came home and collapsed back into bed for a few hours before moving to a spot on the floor in front of my badly disheveled bookshelves. After a half hour of organization, I feel much better!
After yet another night of begging and pleading me to continue living with him after the divorce, Chapin agreed today to request his vacation time starting next Friday and to take the trip home to see his family that he has promised for the past few months. The timing’s perfect because 1) he will be out of the country on our court date and 2) he will return at a good time for us to pack the house into storage and move his stuff to a new apartment. My fall semester starts mid-August and I want to have everything done by then, at least in terms of this house.
Our realtor is coming over tomorrow at 1 p.m. to take photos of the house for the listing. It should be up by the middle of next week.
Now I just need to gather up my inner cojones and give the nanny her notice. Help! Wimp alert. ![]()

I’m so happy that your classes worked out. One less thing to worry about.

Just picture more of your stuff ending up in her possession, it should help give you the courage! But I totally know what you mean, I’d make JP do the firing, I’m horrible with confrontation.
I’m really glad about the classes- definitely one big thing off your mind!

Your nanny sounds icky, and you’re definitely not a wimp! Firing people is hard. I had to fire my doula when I was pregnant and I sent her a letter in the mail. Talk about wimpy.
