Truly Equal Parenting
Lisa Belkin has another excellent piece in the New York Times that profiles parents who have truly embraced the idea of equally split parenting. The parents she profiles truly believe that neither partner should sacrifice their job, time with the kids, etc., so they find a way to divide EVERYTHING in their marriage from chores to work schedules. I really enjoyed reading the different ideas in this piece and also liked that the partners each made sacrifices at work for the good of the kids. Moreover, I was pleased to read that they definitely get the benefit of outsourcing to maximize family time. Hopefully one day I will find another spouse who thinks this is a good system.

It’s amazing what a novel concept this is to some people. Um, equal obligations of two working parents means kids too!
