I learned in my genetics class this semester that 40% of prescription drugs have either no or a negative effect on people. (I'm not sure if 40% of drugs don't work or 40% of people don't respond to drugs or if 40% of the people who take any given drug on average don't respond.) But yeah, I think that our reliance on pharmaceuticals is more cultural than anything else.

Drugs, home remedies, yoga, acupuncture - it's all effective to a degree. And I think the most important thing is mind over matter - actually thinking the remedy will make you better tends to work at least some of the time.

I am completely intrigued. Share more when you have time. I want to try stuff like this because I want to stay as far away from western drugs as possible for as long as possible.

How did you find whoever you found??

Good point. When a girl has to take anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds and use a second form of birth control just to handle the side effects of one medication, I suppose the homeopaths would look at "conventional" medicine consumers and think *we* are the quacks. ;)

Hey, you know . . . why the hell not? It's not any weirder than any of the conventional medicine, right?
