I'm so glad to hear that things are improving for you! I hope life continues to get better. BTW, how is the "family member" doing?

New Duck -- You know, when the doctor said D, I just about fell out of my chair because I was like, "Isn't D the one we get from the sun?!? Am I that much of an indoor freak?" You know where I live so doesn't it seem a bit strange that I couldn't get outside for a few minutes each day? She said that although I could try to do that, the preferred treatment is supplementation because it's a quantifiable dose. In addition, my family has a history of skin cancer so I do actually tend to be a bit sun-shy and slap on a lot of sunscreen (which they say can ironically cause D deficiency as well). She also said that smog blocks UV and we have a lot of that here. That said, I guess I could look into one of the SAD lights and see if it would be worth the investment, both in time and money. I'd have to consider realistically if I'd actually put in the time to do it.

I hope you don't think I'm an idiot for saying this, but have you done any research on those special lamps that are supposed to provide the equivalent of sunlight? I suffer from seasonal depression and have been meaning to look into them, but of course haven't had the time. I know that not getting enough sun can cause a Vitamin D deficiency and, while I know that's not HOW you came by your deficiency, maybe the cure for one ailment could cure the other. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense here, but you might look into it???
