First off, sorry if these posts are boring but this blog is a personal journal of sorts and this is what’s going on with me right now. I need to get it out, if for no other reason than to keep track of my symptoms. I actually called my mother today and gave her my banking info because part of me is freaked out that I will pass out or have some other medical crisis and Chapin will have no clue what to do (I handle all of the finances using recurring billpay and he can’t even use a computer).
Day Two on the Neurontin is not going well. I was doing relatively well yesterday but, by the end of the day, I was down for the count. I had to miss class, go home and pass out. I started weaning off the Cymbalta last night. I’m going to do one day on and one day off (it’s a capsule so I can’t split it). Today I am nauseated and really dizzy and tired. My mother wants me to take the Neurontin slower, but even the label on the bottle says “Take exactly as directed and DO NOT miss a dose.” So I think it’s better to just push through this week and hope that, by the weekend, the side effects improve. In the meantime, the pain is back with a vengeance and it is NO FUN!
I’m going to take some Advil today (NSAIDs are typically a post-gastric bypass no-no, but a few days of it won’t give me an ulcer) and see if that helps.
I tried to read for class yesterday at lunch and my eyes were moving across the page, but my brain wasn’t processing the info. I’m hoping this is just a temporary effect and that the fog will lift very soon. Otherwise this semester, in terms of information recall, will be a bust.

Oh, I’m sorry you’re going through all of this. Second opinion? Maybe?
Rest now while it’s obviously what your body needs – you’ll catch up with school.
You’re in my thoughts.
That SUCKS. You need a new doctor ASAP!!
I am so sorry this is happening to you. It’s so grossly unfair! I hope you get some better medical advice, and pronto. What’s happening to you just has to be avoidable.
Your poor body.
I was so excited for you that the Cymbalta seemed to finally be your answer, and now…
Prayers coming your way, hon. (((HUGS)))
