Cuddlebug
Why is it that when I really need to study, Pumpkinhead turns into a total cuddlebug? He made me the cutest Mom sticker collage and then crawled into my lap for cuddles, pushing my casebook aside. I try really hard to give him some attention when he does this because I don’t want him to think that school is more important than he is, but I’m so behind because of all of this medical stuff and it’s hard enough to concentrate while on these painkillers. So instead of putting him down right away, I took the time to read him his new book, “Hiccupopotamus.” Unfortunately one book was not enough. Now he’s throwing a fit on the floor screaming, “Mommy read books! Mommy read books!” I feel his pain, but I’m going to have to call in the big guns (Chapin) or I will be on the fast track to humiliation at Monday’s Socratic torture session.

It sounds like Cuddlebug needs to know that Mom’s study time is not his storytime. Draw your boundaries. I admire how you’re sticking to your goals despite the setbacks.

Well, you could always try fullfilling his request by reading your case books aloud. *tease*

Actually I tried that and it’s what sent him into fits on the floor. Probably should have included that as part of my post — would have made it a bit funnier.
