Progress on student loan reform
The House of Representatives has passed a bill to overhaul student loans which includes halving interest rates. Yay! Hope it gets all the way through and becomes law! Now can they just get universities (and law schools!!) to stop charging so much that people can’t afford to take public interest positions? Especially in light of articles like this one. ![]()

ACK! What a terrifying article - why did I keep reading? I just have to think - “well, that won’t happen to me.” Or else I don’t think I’ll walk through the law school doors.

Hi there! I really enjoy your blog. I’m an “older”, married woman - starting law school next month (yikes) - I’ve only been married 3 years - My life is in such a good place and now I’m starting this - My Husband is VERY afraid - and on top of that - I’ll be attending a very expensive school (double yikes) - oh well - I have a great career now - but this is a dream I’ve had since 10 years old - and life is too short!
How many classes are you taking?
UM only has full time - first year - so unfortunately I’ll be taking a full load (triple yikes) -
Good Luck - Good wishes - many blesses!
