School supply addict
My heart starts pounding. My palms get clammy. My head starts to spin. It’s time to buy school supplies.
Yes, I am a school supply addict. I have always loved buying my supplies for school — the crisp notebooks, fine-tipped pens, range of highlighters, fun flags, etc. It’s been several years since I’ve had this experience, although I do get a bit lightheaded every time I walk into the supply closet at work.
Today’s experience beat all. I think I may actually have squealed. Pumpkinhead and I stopped at the WalMart school supply aisle and I just about passed out. Since the last time I was in school, supplies have seriously improved!! There are zipper binders with a ton of new pockets and compartments, folders that have waterproof pockets and more secure bindings, etc. Don’t even get me started on the flags and highlighters!!
Today’s law school purchase is the Five Sta Flex Hybrid Notebinder. It’s as thin as a two-subject notebook, but it’s got plastic rings to insert looseleaf paper and handouts. What makes it truly exciting is the four plastic inserts — a notecard pocket, a handout pocket, a diskette pocket and three tabbed plastic pages with little foldover plastic pieces to prevent inserted pages from falling out. It has a fabric binding on the ringed edge so that the binder collapses down if you don’t have a ton of stuff in it or expands as needed. Oh, and the fabric binding also allows you to fold it flat like you would a standard notebook (except it’s really a binder!) I am seriously salivating over the two notebinders I purchased and can’t wait to start using them.

Oh my gosh, I’m the exact same way! My husband makes fun of me all the time because new pens, highlighters, and spirals get me so excited. Law school has been somewhat disappointing because everything I do is on the laptop- I barely even have an excuse to buy new pens at the start of the year (although I do anyway).
Congrats on your new gear and I’m looking forward to hearing how your first day goes!

I wasn’t even going to get a notebook, but I can’t decide if I want to take notes directly on the laptop or just have it open to my outline for reference while making handwritten notes.

I am loving your blog! A fellow Capricornian with a wavering back and forth on whether or not I should go to law school in addition to also having a full time job. I’ve been a paralegal for ten years but never wanted to be a lawyer. I will enjoy reading your endeavors and maybe my decision will be clear soon!!!

It’s definitely hard to make the choice to cross over to the dark side…

You will probably love my business, even if you only want to shop in the stores.
If you know anyone that hates the battle of school supplies or if you want to order some at a cheaper price please get in touch with me.
