Doing the right thing
Thank God for DVR. I happened to catch a segment of 20/20 last night that featured Stephon Marbury and his $14.98 basketball shoes. What a great guy! He seemed really genuine in his message that this craze of expensive shoes, jackets, etc., has gotten out of control and already cost too many children their lives. And the man’s not only selling the shoes, he’s also wearing them! Even 20/20’s experts found that the shoes are just as good structurally as the $150 Nikes. If only the rappers and pop stars would follow in his footsteps and stop endorsing the mega-expensive purses, jewelry, clothes, etc. A whole generation of kids are throwing their money down the drain in their attempt to have the latest cool item and are risking their lives in the process. Go Starbury. ![]()

Go Yellow Jackets (OK, so Marbury only went to Georgia Tech for a year, but I’m all about the ACC). Makes me happy to read about former ACC hoops stars acting like decent human beings, thanks.
