We’ve enrolled Pumpkinhead in an expensive Montessori school. He will start January 2. I am feeling a bit concerned about transitioning him at the same time I start school, but hopefully he will roll with it. We still haven’t figured out Chapin’s work schedule. He has been getting home every night between 7:30 - 8, but that’s not going to cut it for the nights I’m in law school because the Montessori shuts at 6:30 and charges mucho dinero if you’re late. I want to get a backup sitter, but Chapin hates using non-family to care for Pumpkinhead. This is a major source of stress for me. Of course we have less than three weeks left and no solutions. ACK!!
I wish Amazon Marketplace had been around when I was in undergrad. I will be taking three classes this semester (8 credits) - Contracts I, Torts I and Legal Research & Writing I. My books would have cost $478.30 new or $378.20 used from the school bookstore. I have bought everything except one workbook through Amazon Marketplace for a grand total of $151.78 (incl. shipping!) I also found great deals on two commercial outlines. Yay Amazon!
It’s been a month since my last post! I have since been accepted into the T2 school as well as the T4 where I sent my nonrefundable tuition deposit. I’m still really conflicted, but after speaking with a bunch of alumni at both schools, my gut is telling me to go with the T4’s stronger part-time program. The T2 offers no weekend classes/clinics and has daytime hours for law review and other extracurriculars. The T4 has weekend legal clinics, a pro bono program with hours specifically for evening students, and Saturday bar preview classes. The T4 is also closer to my work. I will just need to do that much better in order to succeed. Hopefully I won’t regret my choice down the road….
