I’ve picked a law school
Everyone has told me to go to the best law school I can get into. I’m ignoring them and going to the school that best fits my needs. I recently attended an open house at the “better choice” school and realized that, while they have a part-time evening program, they are much more focused on their daytime students — especially when it comes to clinics and student organizations. I need a school that respects the fact that I have to work full-time during the week and offers me many of the same opportunities as their day students.
The other school that has accepted me (and given me a scholarship) is a private T4 school. There are several lawyers whom I admire who have told me the school is under-rated and that it’s better to do well (top 10%) at a T4 than to be middle-of-the-stream at a higher-ranked school. So I am going to send in my seat deposit and start classes in January (Ack!!!)
Off to read 1L advice blog posts and try to get to the bookstore to pick up some of the classic “Before you go to law school” books. ![]()
